We welcome all visitors to our web site and look forward to having you as guests.  We are all dedicated to making your trip as memorable and fun as possible.  We realize the time and financial commitment a trip to Alaska involves..we gladly meet the challenge of providing you with your best possible Alaska Adventure.

Ed can usually be spotted in the new Smokehouse doing his thing…but recent sightings have him down on the SeaHawk, mowing the lawn at the RV Park, or working on a fancy appetizer with Chef Terry.  He usually sets off the smoke detectors in the kitchen once a week.  How’s that retirement going Ed?  Wife Bernie’s car has a magical way of turning into every fabric or quilt shop from Anchorage to Homer.  Some of her award winning quilts are on display in the RV park office.  They winter in Maui where granddaughter Carly is enrolled in school.

Tom & Charlie share a love of fishing and all things outdoors.  They will personally see that every guest has their expectations met or exceeded during their stay at the FloatPlane Lodge.  Tom is usually down on the SeaHawk, or on the rivers.  Charlie can easily be talked into a glacier hike or Kayak trip across the bay.  They spend their winters in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Chef Terry joins us for his 5th year.  He is a year-round Homer resident.  This big easy going guy looks like a logger, but cooks like your grandma.  His specialties are slow cooked meats and fresh fish.  He loves Alaska and has a real gift for photography.  He can be spotted fishing the rivers or at the fishing hole, “catchin’ something fresh for dinner”.

Wendy joins us as her 2nd year as our reservations and guest services manager.  She is a long time Homer resident and the only Alaska native on staff.  She grew up in the interior of Alaska and has some wonderful stories to share.  She is a pro on the activities in Homer –where to go & what to do when you are not fishing.  Wendy oversees the housekeeping staff, cooks the morning breakfast, and pretty much keeps things running smoothly.

Capt. John returns again this year from his winter home in Hilo – He is a veteran of the Alaska waters where he has been a Captain for several charter fishing vessels in Kachemak Bay and the Cook Inlet.  John is really mellow and easy going, until it is time to land some fish.  Then he gets serious.  Stand back and let the big guy get the net!

Capt. Jordin joins us this year and we are thrilled to have him.  Jordin has many years experience (ok he just looks really young) as the Captain for a large charter vessel out of the Homer harbor.  His background is multi-day bear hunts and fishing expeditions.  He is fun loving and knows some great fishing stories.  He will be teaming up with Capt. John to give our guest their best possible fishing experience.  Jordin is a Homer resident, he is married and has a young daughter. In his spare time he hunts, rides his 4 wheeler and pretty much anything outdoors.

Our pilot is Charlie Tochtermann. Together with his wife Christine they are working with the FloatPlane Lodge to provide their guests flying adventures like no other.   They own and operate a Cessna 206 on floats.  It's the ideal aircraft for exploring the remote areas of Alaska.  Charlie has been flying for over 20 years, holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating, and is both a helicopter and airplane flight instructor.
Our whole teams works together to provide you with an excellent Alaskan Fishing Adventure.
